A design philosophy that epitomises style and focuses on fine craftsmanship, utility and refinement, binds Shalini Jaikaria and Paras Bairoliya. Launched in January 200, Geisha Designs, their lapel, personifies beauty with ultra feminine élan.

The duo use western pattern making principles to re-create traditional Indian silhouettes.Creative and un-conventional use of traditional materials like beads, sequins and thread take a 3- dimensional form to craft striking textures and motifs that are vibrant and bold in nature. Emphasis is laid on hand detailing and seam finishes to make the garment beautiful inside out..

Geisha Designs showcased its spring summer'09 collection at Coterie, New York , Atmosphere's, Paris and BBEH (British Bridal Exhibition, Harrogate, UK). Geisha Designs is also a member of FDCI (Fashion Design Council of India) and show cases its collections bi-annually at the India Fashion Week. Geisha Designs recently unveiled its spring-Summer'09 collection at the Dubai Fashion Week.

Paras and Shalini are both graduates from NIFT, New Delhi.
